It is too soon after our arrival to have any perspective on Cairo. So, this is just to let you know that we arrived safely and were met in the airport by a collague of the famous Walid; he had our visas in hand so we made our way quickly through the airport and early morning to the Cosmo. Later that day Wrick and I walked a few blocks to have a look at the Nile, even more famous than Walid. Yesterday we had our first arabic lesson so I'm walking around with a a note card and notes to prompt me when I want to wish someone a morning filled with the aroma of flowers (not of beans which I'll say if I mispronounce the vowels.)
